Newborn Care Class update

First it was low attendance numbers, then it was a blizzard, and unless we have a baby that decides to join us on Tuesday we now we have a date for upcoming newborn care classes. Join me Tuesday Feb. 3 and Tuesday Feb. 10 from 6:30-8:30pm for this winter’s free newborn care class. This class will comprehensively cover breastfeeding: the first feeding, the importance of colostrum, achieving the correct latch, how the body makes milk and how to know your baby is getting enough to eat, hunger cues, overcoming common breastfeeding difficulties, growth spurts, and information on pumping, introducing a bottle, and safe formula feeding are all covered in the first night! The second class focuses on baby basics. What type of gear do you really need, what is sleep like in the early weeks and how do you work with it, nighttime parenting, how to sooth your baby, when to call the doctor, how much time does it really take to parent and how to make it work, postpartum mood disorders,and how to work with the changes a baby will bring while also strengthen your relationship.
